Registered Nurse 13 Week Assignment
About The Position
Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. The Registered Nurse coordinates and oversees patients’ home care, collaborating with care teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. The role includes assessing patients, providing skilled nursing care, educating families, maintaining timely documentation, and communicating patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team. This is a 13-week temporary assignment with a stated Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule. Compensation includes per-visit-point pay for visits and hourly pay for certain non-visit activities. The stated annual total cash target range assumes full-time employment at 40 hours per week and full productivity. Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Requirements
- At least one year of clinical experience as a registered nurse; candidates with less than one year require approval by the VP of Clinical.
- Current RN license specific to the state(s) assigned.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
- Candidates with less than six months of clinical experience as an RN must participate in the RN Intern program.
- Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of patients’ home care.
- Collaborate with patient care teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Educate families on the patient’s condition, needs, and care.
- Perform head-to-toe physical assessments.
- Check vital signs and manage medications.
- Give injections, provide IV therapy, or administer tube feedings.
- Administer and maintain catheters.
- Complete documentation accurately and on time.
- Supervise LPNs and HHAs.
- Regularly communicate patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
