About The Position
Leidos’ Defense Sensors organization is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead a high-profile radar production program supporting the U.S. Marine Corps. The program is transitioning from development into full-rate production and involves complex manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and customer challenges. The Program Manager is responsible for program execution, financial performance, schedule, and customer satisfaction, leading a multidisciplinary team and driving production readiness while proactively managing risks and resolving technical and operational issues. The role is part of Leidos Defense Systems Sector, which provides systems, solutions, and services across land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. The position is based in Huntsville, Alabama; candidates must live in the area or be willing to relocate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and at least 8 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience; additional education, experience, or training may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Prior experience as a Program Manager with direct responsibility for program financial performance.
- Significant leadership experience on defense, aerospace, intelligence, or government programs.
- Ability to lead in fast-paced environments with changing priorities and incomplete information.
- Strong executive presence, judgment, communication skills, and learning agility.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Ability to independently lead complex programs, set priorities, exercise sound judgment, and make timely decisions in challenging environments.
- Experience managing production or manufacturing programs.
- Experience engaging senior government, military, and corporate leaders.
- Demonstrated experience managing program financial performance, including budgets, EACs, cost and schedule performance, and profitability.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active DoD Secret clearance.
- Must reside in Huntsville, Alabama, or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville area.
Nice To Haves
- Experience managing fixed-price defense production contracts.
- Experience with radar, sensor, electronic warfare, or other complex defense electronics systems.
- Active Top Secret clearance.
- Experience transitioning defense systems from development into production.
- Familiarity with defense acquisition processes.
- Experience managing production suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturing operations.
- Experience supporting classified and international operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead program execution, including cost, schedule, technical performance, contractual requirements, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage program financial performance, including profit and loss, forecasting, Estimate at Completion (EAC), and financial performance.
- Lead and align cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, contracts, and finance.
- Drive production planning and execution, including manufacturing readiness, material availability, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Identify and manage program risks, resolve complex technical and operational issues, and drive timely decisions.
- Serve as the primary program interface with the U.S. Marine Corps customer and manage customer relationships and expectations.
- Engage with senior government customers, military leadership, and Leidos executive leadership.
- Identify and pursue program growth opportunities, additional production orders, and follow-on work.
