About The Position
The Program Director provides strategic and operational leadership for Seedco’s Recovery Works program, which combines workforce development and recovery support services to help people in substance use or behavioral health treatment achieve sustained employment and stability. The program connects job readiness, sector-based training, employment linkages, retention coaching, and recovery services through coordination with clinical providers, employers, and community organizations. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director leads a nine-member multidisciplinary team across intake, case management, employment services, peer recovery, and education and training. The role is accountable for achieving program milestones and sustaining partnerships with Acacia-affiliated treatment providers, employers, and community organizations. This is a full-time, temporary position with a 12–15-month engagement, based at 2804 Third Avenue, Bronx, NY 10455. The base salary is $55,000 plus fringe.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- At least five years of progressive leadership experience in workforce development, behavioral health, or recovery services.
- At least three years of experience supervising multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed, evidence-based service delivery for people in substance use or behavioral health recovery.
- Track record managing milestone-driven, performance-based contracts and cost-reimbursement structures with public or philanthropic funders.
- Proficiency with Salesforce or a comparable case management/CRM platform for participant tracking and outcomes reporting.
- Strong partnership development, fiscal management, staff coaching, and written and verbal communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Lived or professional experience with recovery communities.
- Familiarity with the Acacia Network and the New York City workforce ecosystem.
- Familiarity with Windows 365.
Responsibilities
- Direct day-to-day operations across program stages, including Engagement and Stabilization, Workforce Readiness, Skill Building, Employment Services, Peer Mentoring, and Wrap-Around Supports.
- Perform team hiring and onboarding.
- Serve as the primary liaison with Acacia-affiliated treatment partners, employer networks, and community providers to sustain referral pipelines and placement opportunities.
- Hire, coach, and evaluate the nine-member program team, including the Lead Case Manager, Lead Employment Specialist, Peer Recovery Coordinator, and Education/Training Coordinator.
- Build team cohesiveness through regular communication, active listening, and relationship-building with team members.
- Ensure the program and team work toward performance goals, adjusting staffing, responsibilities, and activities as needed to meet milestones.
- Track milestone achievement in Salesforce, including enrollment, soft-skill completion, credentials, and placements.
- Oversee retention coaching at 30, 90, and 180 days, and lead corrective action to maximize performance.
- Manage the program budget and approve OTPS expenditures to remain within budget.
- Ensure trauma-responsive, evidence-informed service delivery and timely funder reporting against contracted outcomes.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
