Family Medicine Residency Associate Program Director

Samaritan Healthcare•Moses Lake, WA

About The Position

The Associate Program Director (APD) is a physician leader who partners with the Program Director to design, achieve accreditation for, launch, and sustain the Moses Lake Family Medicine Residency. The APD contributes to the program’s educational, clinical, and operational development while maintaining an active clinical practice. As the program matures, the APD shares responsibility for resident education, assessment, recruitment, faculty development, continuous program improvement, and compliance with ACGME, sponsoring-institution, and organizational requirements. The position includes a faculty appointment with the Washington State University Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine at an academic rank commensurate with qualifications and subject to WSU’s appointment processes. It is designed to provide leadership development through mentorship and progressively responsible assignments in curriculum, accreditation, resident assessment, faculty development, recruitment, and program operations. For a physician who demonstrates readiness and meets applicable ACGME qualifications, the role may provide a path to consideration for future Program Director leadership. Time allocation is 0.70 clinical / 0.30 residency leadership before resident matriculation, changing to 0.60 clinical / 0.40 residency leadership beginning with the first resident recruitment season. Clinical work includes direct patient care, resident and learner precepting, and hospital-based care. The clinical portfolio may reflect program needs, clinical privileges, and the physician’s experience and interests. This is a full-time exempt position. Samaritan describes its mission as “All of us, for each of you, every time,” its vision as serving together as a trusted regional healthcare partner, and its values as Listen, Love, Respect, Excel, and Innovate.
