About The Position

Holy Cross Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its Interventional Spine and Pain Management team, which includes four physicians and four APPs. The role provides clinical variety and continuity of patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Its hybrid structure balances inpatient and outpatient responsibilities while supporting work-life balance and the evolving needs of patients and the organization. The position is based at Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Holy Cross Medical Group in Oakland Park, Florida. It is a full-time, day-shift role. The APP works with collaborating physicians and participates in office call and hospital rotation, including weekends and holidays, with compensatory time off in accordance with departmental scheduling practices.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • National Advanced Practice Registered Nurse certification or national board certification as a Physician Assistant.
  • Current Physician Assistant or APRN license in the State of Florida.
  • BLS certification.
  • DEA license.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of interventional pain management experience.
  • Experience with the Epic Electronic Medical Record.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including history, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic studies.
  • Manage acute and chronic pain conditions.
  • Evaluate and triage new patient referrals and follow-up visits.
  • Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic testing.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with collaborating physicians.
  • Provide patient education on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and medication management.
  • Assist with hospital rounding and consultations.
  • Coordinate care with other providers and specialties.
  • Document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and best-practice standards.
  • Participate in office call and hospital rotation, including weekends and holidays.
