About The Position
Armor Health is hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join its team at Richland Prison in Columbia, South Carolina. The organization partners with correctional facilities to improve healthcare outcomes and support the holistic wellness of patients. The role provides psychiatric assessment and care, collaborates with behavioral health staff on treatment planning, and supports coordination of patient care.
Requirements
- Current state license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Current CPR certificate.
- Two years of experience in a psychiatric and/or correctional healthcare setting.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records.
- Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance, including a background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Perform psychiatric examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up consultations, and health education.
- Work with BHD and/or BHPs to identify appropriate treatment plans for at-risk patients or as needed.
- Attend morning huddle calls intermittently when indicated or when high-risk patients require multidisciplinary treatment planning and collaboration.
- Obtain patient histories, follow up on medication verification, review pertinent medical history, and develop patient care treatment plans, ensuring completeness and accuracy using the POMR format.
- Support coordination of patient care activities and/or support staff.
- Participate in developing specific mental health policies and procedures when indicated.
