About The Position
The Medical Secretary performs secretarial duties at the Health Center, which involves significant contact with parents and exposure to sensitive information which must remain confidential. Performs duties and must have the ability to initiate and determine appropriate priorities such that emergent matters are handled in a timely fashion.
Requirements
- A high school diploma/GED is required.
- One to three years of general office work with progressive levels of responsibility is also required.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be computer proficient and skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work under pressure of many priorities and deadlines.
Nice To Haves
- A Certified Nurse’s Aide is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Schedules medical appointments for students.
- Routes drivers for off campus medical appointments.
- Administers pre-employment and worker’s compensation drug screens for staff and maintains all applicable paperwork.
- Schedules medical appointments for staff who have a worker’s compensation claim as needed.
- Performs data entry and files insurance claims.
- Assists with the Health Center Kitchen when needed.
