About The Position

The Unit Secretary coordinates non-clinical duties for the Medical Stroke Telemetry nursing unit at Glenbrook Hospital. This is a part-time evening position, scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., for 24 hours, with rotating weekends. The role supports patient flow and provides customer service to patients, families, nurses, physicians, and other support departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of work experience, or 1 year of college and 1 year of work experience.
• Proficiency with word processing and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate non-clinical duties of the nursing unit.
• Enter patient charges in the computer.
• Coordinate patient flow for admissions and discharges.
• Order supplies.
• Provide customer service to patients, families, nurses, physicians, and other support departments.
• Answer phones and relay messages as appropriate.
• Proactively identify the need for service recovery and follow up on resolution.
