Facility Maintenance Technician

About The Position
The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairs and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical equipment, boiler systems, and environmental control systems throughout all departments at the travel center. The role also includes general facility repairs, coordinating outside contractors, maintaining inventory of materials and supplies, and coordinating and inspecting work performed by porters and housekeeping staff. The technician helps maintain a safe environment for customers and works in a service-focused team environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with vocational training in general maintenance and equipment repair.
- Demonstrated ability in general maintenance or other maintenance responsibilities.
- Ability to operate machinery and equipment, including tow motors, equipment, and basic hand tools.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Nice To Haves
- HVAC, electrical, or plumbing certifications preferred.
- Works well with others and is excited to be part of the team.
Responsibilities
- Perform installations, inspections, repairs, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical equipment, boiler systems, and environmental control systems in all departments of the location.
- Complete general repairs, including painting and caulking, patching walls, security hardware, roof repairs, pavement repairs, tile and floor repairs, hanging shelves, facility lighting, and landscaping.
- Coordinate outside contractors and ensure the scope of work is being performed correctly.
- Maintain appropriate inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Coordinate, assign, and inspect porter and housekeeping staff work for completeness.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
