Maintenance Technician (Part-Time)

About The Position
Hometown America is hiring a part-time Maintenance Technician at Brighton at Barnegat in Barnegat, New Jersey. The role performs routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance for community common buildings, common areas, and leased homes to support the community’s long-term viability. The technician helps keep the community presentable and welcoming while meeting curb appeal standards, and works with a supervisor and team to meet customer expectations and maintain ongoing operations. The position involves outdoor work in varying seasonal temperatures and may require flexible hours, including Saturdays or hours outside normal business hours for emergencies.
Requirements
- Prior relevant experience, or transferable attributes, experience, or skills from another industry or context.
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of seasonal temperatures.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as in a team, seeing assignments and projects through to completion.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including Saturdays or outside normal business hours for emergency situations.
- Candidates must complete criminal background and driving record checks.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience and general knowledge of snow plowing, landscaping, basic plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and hand tools.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance for common buildings, common areas, and leased homes.
- Ensure the community is presentable, inviting, and consistent with curb appeal standards.
- Perform grounds work and seasonal maintenance in common areas, including power washing, pest control, sweeping curb and dumpster areas, and maintaining landscaping and other areas.
- Communicate daily with the supervisor and collaborate with the team to meet customer expectations and support ongoing operations.
- Follow safety procedures, including safely operating equipment and vehicles while traveling between sites and picking up supplies.
- Maintain a professional and courteous rapport with residents, vendors, contractors, and colleagues.
