About The Position

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing is seeking an experienced, full-time Industrial Maintenance Technician to join its precision manufacturing team. The technician will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machines and other production machinery. A $2,000 hiring bonus is offered.

The work takes place in a well-lit, temperature-controlled machine shop. Employees may work standing, sitting, bending, and climbing, and will occasionally lift items and work inside machines. The employer is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment in employment.

Requirements

• Ability to work under limited supervision with minimal technical guidance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
• General knowledge and skill with basic hand tools.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.

Nice To Haves

• Preventive industrial maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience with CNC grinding and/or machining equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Examine machines to diagnose issues; dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble them, and make adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production equipment.
• Repair CNC machines and/or robotics.
• Occasionally make replacement parts.
• Perform general preventive maintenance on machinery.
• May provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
