About The Position

Arbors Management Inc. is hiring a full-time Building Maintenance Technician 2 for an 81-unit senior and disabled independent-living high-rise in the Lincoln-Lemingon-Belmar area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The position is responsible for the building’s upkeep and maintenance and works daylight hours. On-call coverage is required for emergency repairs after hours and on weekends, with the schedule rotating with the other maintenance person. The role involves responding to resident work orders; plumbing, electrical, and basic HVAC repairs; outdoor grounds maintenance; custodial duties; ordering supplies; and coordinating with outside contractors as needed. The salary is $24–$26 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of experience working in a maintenance technician role.
Intermediate electrical skills.
Intermediate plumbing skills.
Beginner/basic HVAC skills; certification is not needed.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Must have a driver's license, vehicle insurance, and a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

Handle resident work orders in a timely manner.
Perform plumbing repairs, including work on water tanks, toilets, sinks, and drains.
Perform electrical repairs and troubleshooting, including work on lights, switches, outlets, and breakers.
Perform basic HVAC maintenance, including replacing PTAC units, cleaning filters, and servicing thermostats; certification is not needed.
Maintain outdoor areas by cutting grass, removing snow, and keeping grounds free of debris.
Perform custodial duties, including cleaning common areas, ground-level window cleaning, and trash removal using a trash compactor.
Order supplies and work with outside contractors as needed.
Provide on-call coverage for emergency repairs after hours and on weekends according to a rotating schedule.
