About The Position

Arbors Management Inc. is hiring a full-time Building Maintenance Technician 2 to maintain an 81-unit high-rise independent-living building for seniors and people with disabilities in the Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The role covers plumbing, electrical work, light HVAC, carpentry, and custodial duties. HVAC certification is not required. The position works daylight hours and includes rotating on-call coverage with another maintenance employee for emergency repairs after hours and on weekends. The technician responds to resident work orders, maintains the building and grounds, orders supplies, and coordinates with outside contractors as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of experience working in a maintenance technician role.
Intermediate electrical skills.
Intermediate plumbing skills.
Beginner-level HVAC skills; no certification is needed.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Must have a driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

Handle residents’ work orders in a timely manner.
Perform plumbing repairs, including work on water tanks, toilets, sinks, and drains.
Perform electrical repairs and troubleshooting involving lights, switches, outlets, and breakers.
Perform basic HVAC work, including replacing PTAC units, cleaning filters, and servicing thermostats; certification is not required.
Maintain the exterior grounds, including cutting grass, removing snow, and clearing debris.
Perform custodial duties, including cleaning common areas, cleaning ground-level windows, and removing trash using the trash compactor.
Order supplies and work with outside contractors as needed.
Provide rotating on-call coverage for emergency repairs after hours and on weekends.
