About The Position

Are you a detail-driven affordable housing professional looking to take ownership of property compliance across a growing portfolio? Positive Investments, Inc. is seeking an experienced Housing Compliance Specialist to ensure our communities maintain full compliance with TCAC (Tax Credit Allocation Committee) standards and Affordable Housing program guidelines. In this role, you'll serve as the primary expert for resident eligibility, agency reporting, and audit preparedness, while using your Yardi expertise to keep our operations seamless.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of direct experience with TCAC regulations and affordable housing compliance.
  • Strong hands-on proficiency in Yardi (or similar property management systems).
  • Solid understanding of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs and related affordable housing frameworks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving capabilities, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication capabilities, with a knack for guiding onsite teams.
  • Proven ability to thrive independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • TCAC Compliance Certification or equivalent industry credential.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all portfolio properties strictly align with TCAC, LIHTC, and local, state, and federal affordable housing regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing regulatory requirements and update internal policy frameworks accordingly.
  • Prepare and submit required compliance reports to governing housing agencies.
  • Review and process income certifications, annual recertifications, and prospective tenant applications.
  • Perform regular internal file audits to confirm program eligibility and guidelines adherence.
  • Guide onsite property management teams through complex eligibility determinations.
  • Maintain precise, organized compliance records directly within Yardi.
  • Track and manage deadlines for annual and interim recertifications.
  • Assist in leading preparation, documentation, and follow-up for regulatory agency audits and physical inspections.
  • Conduct training sessions for Property Managers and leasing teams on compliance workflows.
  • Serve as a supportive subject-matter contact across regional property management operations.
