About The Position

Requirements

• At least 2 years of utility construction, paving restoration, roadway restoration, or infrastructure rehabilitation experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or field leadership experience in a construction, utility, or public works environment.
• Experience managing field operations, contractors, and construction schedules through a work management system.
• Knowledge of gas distribution systems, utility construction standards, and maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with NYSDOT specifications, permitting requirements, and restoration standards.
• Experience overseeing large-scale construction projects with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to build effective relationships with customers, contractors, municipal agencies, and government officials.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and organize assigned Restoration Inspectors to ensure job tasks are completed effectively and efficiently in accordance with municipal, department, and National Grid requirements.
• Oversee Restoration Contractors working shifts in an assigned Upstate New York geographical region, ensuring safe construction practices during restoration work.
• Manage the safe setting to work of activities in accordance with safe control of operations procedures.
• Authorize permission documents and undertake the role of Site Controller.
• Maintain accurate site operational records, including shift log entries.
• Support construction and commissioning of new assets onto the gas transmission system and other non-load-related project work.
• Identify the need to replace or upgrade existing plant and equipment, including preparing business cases, initiating design, and providing technical support.
• Act as incident controller and site main controller during planned and emergency situations.
• Manage allocated resources to provide cost-effective, customer-focused, efficient service within budget and delegated authority.
• Assist with indirect control of projects to ensure schedules and budgeted costs are met.
