About The Position

Native American Bank has formed an affiliate non-profit organization, the National Native Community Fund (NNCF), which will operate as a loan fund and further the mission of providing Indian Country access to capital. The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of the operations of the National Native Community Fund. The role will encompass both long-range strategy setting and day-to-day operations in concert with bank employees. It will be responsible for various activities related to the initial development of the non-profit, its growth, fundraising, and management in coordination with the NNCF Board of Directors. The Executive Director of NNCF will provide visionary leadership while promoting strong relationships with Tribal communities, funding partners, community organizations, and other key stakeholders. This role is responsible for ensuring the long-term sustainability, operational excellence, and strategic impact of NNCF in alignment with its mission and the goals of Native American Bank. This role is only open to candidates currently residing within a 45 miles radius from Denver, CO at this time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, community development, financial services, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with fundraising, grant writing, donor relations, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience managing budgets, financial reporting, and nonprofit financial operations.
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors, community organizations, funders, and other community partners.
  • Commitment to NNCF’s mission, values, and the communities we serve.
  • Ability to work independently while also working well with others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems.
  • Ability to think strategically and follow through on organizational goals.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with small business lending, impact investing, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), or community development finance is preferred.
  • Experience working with Native American, Tribal, or Indigenous communities is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provides overall leadership and direction for NNCF, ensuring the organization’s mission, values, and strategic goals are achieved.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring effective administration and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Leads strategic planning and organizational initiatives that support NNCF’s long-term growth and sustainability.
  • Oversees organizational programs, operational processes, technology systems, and reporting to support efficient operations.
  • Develops and manages the annual operating budget, monitors financial performance, and ensures responsible use of organizational resources.
  • Works closely with the Board of Directors by providing regular updates on organizational performance, financial results, and strategic priorities.
  • Leads fundraising efforts, including donor relations, grant writing, identifying funding opportunities, and grant reporting.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with Tribal communities, Board members, funders, community organizations, government agencies, industry partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Serves as the primary spokesperson and representative of NNCF with community partners, funders, and the public.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and support to staff while promoting collaboration, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable laws, grant requirements, organizational policies, and nonprofit best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of NNCF and, when appropriate, initiatives between NNCF and Native American Bank.
