About The Position
The Data Entry Clerk, also referred to as a Payment Posting Representative or Medical Payment Posting Clerk, is responsible for accurately posting payments and adjustments to patient accounts while maintaining accurate account information. The role reconciles daily activity and routes underpayments, denials, and account discrepancies to the appropriate teams for follow-up. The position is full-time and has a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. It is located at Gadsden Physician Management in Gadsden, Alabama.
Responsibilities
- Post incoming payments accurately to the appropriate patient accounts.
- Enter and retrieve payment and account information within billing systems.
- Apply contractual adjustments to patient accounts as needed.
- Reconcile daily payment activity and identify account discrepancies.
- Route underpayments, denials, and unresolved balances to the appropriate department for follow-up.
