About The Position
Fastenal is hiring a part-time Custodian for its distribution center in Akron, Ohio. The role maintains facility cleanliness and performs minor repairs, painting, and routine maintenance. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., for up to 20 hours per week. A flexible schedule may be available after onboarding and training and upon meeting performance goals. Fastenal emphasizes environmental protection and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, and expects employees to follow its health, safety, and sustainability practices.
Requirements
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
- Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
- Work independently and in a team environment.
- Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
- Lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Pass the required drug screen; applicable in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Guam only.
Responsibilities
- Vacuum, mop, and perform other bathroom services.
- Perform minor repairs and painting at the facility.
- Disinfect commonly touched surfaces, including door handles, drinking fountains, counters, and tables.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and order products as needed.
- Comply with health, safety, and sustainability rules and expectations.
- Participate in activities and programs that support the company's health, safety, and sustainability objectives.
- Learn, pass, and practice environmental health and safety trainings.
