About The Position

Under the supervision of a Property and Facilities Coordinator or Supervisor, the Custodian/GA takes day-to-day direction from the Head Custodian while performing janitorial functions, including cleaning and minor maintenance tasks at Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties’ owned or contracted facilities. The position is responsible for carrying out program and subunit activities in a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies, and procedures.

This role is based in Property and Facilities in Lansing, Michigan, and is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The hourly pay range is $15.58–$17.45, with shift incentives for specified evening, overnight, and weekend hours.

Employment offers are contingent on the results of a Michigan State Police clearance check. Candidates must also pass a pre-employment 5-panel drug screen and physical. Requirements

• Must be physically able to perform repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Must be physically able to operate a variety of janitorial equipment, including floor scrubbers and vacuum cleaners.
• May be required to have access to reliable transportation for job-related use.
• Must pass a Michigan State Police clearance check, a pre-employment 5-panel drug screen, and a pre-employment physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial functions, including cleaning and minor maintenance tasks, at CMHA-CEI-owned or contracted facilities.
• Carry out program and subunit activities in accordance with CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies, and procedures.
• Take day-to-day direction from the Head Custodian while working under the supervision of a Property and Facilities Coordinator or Supervisor.

Benefits

• Shift incentive of $1.25 per hour for hours worked from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
• Shift incentive of $2 per hour for hours worked from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM.
• Shift incentive of $3 per hour for weekends worked from Friday 5:00 PM to Monday 8:00 AM.
