About The Position
Under the supervision of a Property and Facilities Coordinator or Supervisor, the Custodian/GA performs janitorial functions, including cleaning and minor maintenance at Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties’ owned or contracted facilities. The role takes day-to-day direction from the Head Custodian and carries out program and subunit activities in accordance with CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies, and procedures. The position is located in Property and Facilities in Lansing, Michigan, and is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
Requirements
- Must be physically able to perform repetitive lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Must be physically able to operate janitorial equipment, including floor scrubbers and vacuum cleaners.
- May be required to have access to reliable transportation for job-related use.
- Must pass a Michigan State Police clearance check.
- Must pass a pre-employment 5-panel drug screen.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical.

Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning and other janitorial functions at CMHA-CEI owned or contracted facilities.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks.
- Carry out program and subunit activities in accordance with CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies, and procedures.
Benefits
- Shift incentive of $1.25 per hour for hours worked from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
- Shift incentive of $2 per hour for hours worked from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM.
- Shift incentive of $3 per hour for weekend hours worked from Friday 5:00 PM to Monday 8:00 AM.
