About The Position

The Custodian/GA performs janitorial functions, including cleaning and minor maintenance, at facilities owned or contracted by the Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties. The position operates under the supervision of a Property and Facilities Coordinator or Supervisor and takes day-to-day direction from the Head Custodian. The employee is responsible for carrying out program and subunit activities in a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies, and procedures.

Employment offers are contingent on the results of a Michigan State Police Clearance check. Candidates must pass a pre-employment five-panel drug screen and physical. Requirements

• Be physically able to perform repetitive lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Be physically able to operate janitorial equipment such as floor scrubbers and vacuum cleaners.
• May be required to have access to reliable transportation for job-related use.
• Pass a Michigan State Police Clearance check, a pre-employment five-panel drug screen, and a pre-employment physical.
• Submit an employment application; a resume cannot be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial functions, including cleaning and minor maintenance tasks, at CMHA-CEI-owned or contracted facilities.
• Carry out program and subunit activities in accordance with CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies, and procedures.
• Take day-to-day direction from the Head Custodian under the supervision of a Property and Facilities Coordinator or Supervisor.

Benefits

• Shift incentives: an additional $1.25 per hour for hours worked from 5 p.m. to midnight; $2 per hour for hours worked from midnight to 8 a.m.; and $3 per hour for weekend hours worked from Friday at 5 p.m. through Monday at 8 a.m.
