About The Position

ServiceFM (SFM) is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic custodian to perform general cleaning and floor care at an educational facility in Nashville, Tennessee, near Foster Lane and Murfreesboro Pike. The custodian helps maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors while supporting the facility’s daily operations. The position works 40 or more hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., including a 30-minute unpaid meal break. Additional evening and weekend hours may be available for special events throughout the year. Compensation is $17.00 per hour.

Requirements

Successfully pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check required for school employment.
Ability to perform physical work, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing, and pulling.
Reliable, dependable, and committed to excellent customer service.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic smartphone or computer skills to record work hours accurately.
Ability to work in a smoke-free, tobacco-free, and drug-free environment.

Responsibilities

Clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and common areas.
Sweep, vacuum, dust, and mop floors using wet and dry methods.
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
Clean windows, doors, and other interior surfaces.
Remove debris from building entrances and surrounding grounds.
Set up and break down tables, chairs, and furniture for school events.
Perform periodic floor care and carpet maintenance during school breaks.
Perform porter duties, including moving boxes, furniture, and supplies, and complete other assigned tasks as needed.
Follow company safety procedures, cleaning standards, and quality expectations.
Record work hours accurately using basic smartphone or computer skills.
