About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for keeping the production facility clean and in working order. Dependability and above-average attendance are required. Employees are expected to help make quality products that exceed customer expectations, take pride in their work, and participate in improving Buckhorn’s processes, products, and culture. The custodian contributes to product quality by maintaining a clean and functioning facility.

Requirements

At least three months of related experience.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Valid and current driver's license and ability to pass a driver's license check.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating and maintenance instructions.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and to use two mathematical operations to reach a solution.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to work effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
Must become forklift certified.
Dependability and above-average attendance.

Responsibilities

Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following Buckhorn policies and OSHA standards.
Maintain a production floor free of oil and water.
Operate and maintain floor scrubbers and other powered cleaning equipment.
Operate a forklift to move pallets of cleaning materials and wastewater or waste-oil totes.
Separate waste oil and water and store totes properly.
Deliver waste oil and absorbent socks by forklift to the vendor pickup area.
Inventory, properly store, and regularly restock janitorial supplies.
Clean and inspect the exterior of the plant, including sidewalks and trash areas.
Set up and tear down meeting rooms.
Perform general cleaning in breakrooms, restrooms, offices, and other facility areas.
Remove trash.
Perform light maintenance as requested, including hanging signs and removing snow from sidewalks.
Collect and prepare plant recyclable items.
Properly dispose of biohazards, such as blood and body fluids, as needed for Quality and Environmental.
