About The Position
Ryder is hiring a Sanitation Associate in Elwood, Illinois, to help maintain a safe, clean, and tour-ready warehouse facility handling food products. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with hourly pay of $18.00 and weekly pay. The role includes sanitation of warehouse, office, exterior, and employee areas, along with light maintenance support and other duties as assigned. Overtime may be needed. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One or more years of previous warehouse experience preferred.
- May be required to be equipment certified, depending on location.
- Ability to recognize and read location, date, and product codes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships across all levels of the organization, including peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility and self-direction to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions and work assignments.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent follow-up practices.
- Some positions may require additional screening, which may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check and road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities
- Clean restrooms, break room, locker room, and office areas according to the sanitation schedule.
- Clean exterior building areas, including windows and walkways, and empty trash containers and receptacles according to the sanitation schedule.
- Sweep and scrub warehouse floors and office areas according to the sanitation schedule.
- Wipe down warehouse and office racks, guard rails, and walls according to the sanitation schedule.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and tour-ready facility.
- Assist maintenance technicians as required and perform light maintenance activities such as painting.
- Perform additional duties as assigned; work overtime as needed.
