About The Position

Requirements

• At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
• Equivalent to a high school education. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
• One (1) year of experience in inspecting or supervising construction work.
• Possession of a valid driver's license (type 3/automobile), prior to appointment.

Nice To Haves

• An Associate's degree in architectural or engineering drafting from an accredited college or university; or in the Applied Trades, Architectural, Engineering and CAD Technologies, and Carpentry Technology programs at Honolulu Community College, or similar academic programs from an accredited college or university.
• A Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Monitor construction activities including grading, paving, concrete, reinforcing steel, pile driving, and backfill.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Verify completed work for contractor payments and project progress.
• Enforce contract compliance by documenting deficiencies and coordinating corrective actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
