About The Position

The Cosmetic Clinical Supervisor will lead, guide, and supervise the Medical Assistant staff to ensure safe and effective quality patient care in an efficient and productive manner. The CS supports practice leadership in the day-to-day clinical operations and management of practice.

Requirements

  • Able to triage patient problems.
  • Be familiar with and compliant OSHA/HIPAA , infection control & Blood Borne Pathogen S tandards .
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 codes.
  • Knowledge of office financial policies .
  • Basic computer skills and experience in EMR utilization .
  • Able to operate standard office equipment ( i.e. computer, fax, copier, scanner, etc )
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to work in an effective , cooperativ e, and courteous manner with staff , patients, and visitors.
  • Must be able to travel to satellite offices as needed
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
  • Ability to read , understand and follow oral and written instruction .
  • Ab ility to spell, sort and file materials correctly alphabetically or numerically .
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
  • CPR certified
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Medical Assistant

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in Dermatology is pre ferred

Responsibilities

  • Participates in interviewing, hiring and training of new MA team members
  • Provides timely , objective feedback to the MA regarding performance expectations and follows up to ensure compliance.
  • Escort p atient to exam room and confirm first & last name & DOB .
  • Obtain and record vital signs.
  • Organize patient flow .
  • Setup p rocedure tray, instruments, and equipment according to i nstructions .
  • Prepare Path/lab specimens, route to correct lab directed by patient insurance plan .
  • Respond to patient questions in office and on phone as instructed .
  • Check to-dos/Nurse line .
  • Calibrate, clean, sterilize and inventory all equipment & instruments according to schedule .
  • Keep appropriate records of maintenance.
  • Maintain medication supplies, discard out-of-date supplies, and keep appropriate records .
  • Maintain infection control and make sure s upply rooms and cabinets are stocked.
  • Ordering, sorting, restocking and inventory of all supplies.
  • Document all medical instructions given to patients , thoroughly review wound care with patients when applicable.
  • Anesthesia/Inject for p rocedures.
  • Ensure all phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental mail are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Must maintain HIPAA compliance
  • Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management .
