About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or higher.
• Previous hospitality experience required, including a minimum of one year of related experience.
• Experience with POS systems.
• Familiarity with beer and spirits.
• Knowledge of proper lifting techniques, guest relations, sanitation and safety, safe alcohol service, and full-service restaurant operations.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds or more.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate clearly.
• Corrected vision to the normal range.
• Ability to work long hours as needed.
• Ability to make sound judgments quickly.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks and make appropriate progress toward deadlines.
• Ability to work independently, take direction, and provide direction to others.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely service and support to bartenders.
• Prepare mixes and garnishes.
• Keep the bar top clean and free of dirty glasses and trash, and keep the back bar clean and organized.
• Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment; clean spills immediately; place trash in proper receptacles; sweep and mop as needed; and empty trash as necessary.
• Assist with loading and unloading miscellaneous equipment, boxes, and food and beverage products.
• Complete stocking, fill out requisitions, and report stock shortages.
• Provide guests with accurate information about menu items, pricing, and allergens.
• Run food when applicable, including carrying plates that may be warm or hot.
• Set tables and remove used plateware and utensils.
• Recognize and cultivate regular guests and repeat business.
• Respond to guest concerns and complaints, correct errors or resolve complaints while maintaining a positive attitude, and escalate to management when necessary.
• Monitor potentially intoxicated or disruptive guests and promptly notify a manager.
• Inform management of complaints, comments, or incidents.
• Immediately report equipment failures and safety hazards to management.
• Move furniture and equipment as directed by management, including tables, chairs, bar stools, banquettes, bar tables, boxes, and equipment.
• Comply with safety and health department procedures and state and federal liquor laws.
• Maintain company safety and sanitation standards.
• Assist with or complete additional tasks assigned by management.
