About The Position

The Barback supports the Food and Beverage team by maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar and assisting bartenders in delivering exceptional guest service. The role includes preparing ingredients and supplies, replenishing bar essentials, handling beer kegs and taps, assisting with inventory, and maintaining clean bar and storage areas. The position requires a genuine passion for hospitality and compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-awareness regulations. The role is at Hilton San Francisco Union Square in downtown San Francisco.

Requirements

• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Meet the minimum legal age requirement to serve alcohol in the state of employment.
• Strong English communication skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with guests, team members, and management.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while supporting bartenders, restocking supplies, and maintaining a clean, organized, well-stocked bar area.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.

Responsibilities

• Cut, slice, and peel garnishes and fruits; mix juices; and place prepared supplies in designated containers.
• Work with bartenders to keep the bar stocked with glassware, ice, produce, condiments, and paper products.
• Transport, replace, and maintain beer kegs and taps to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Retrieve orders from the storeroom, visually check stock, reconcile it with written requisitions, and re-check items upon delivery.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, beer lockers, refrigerators, and storage areas.
• Comply with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-awareness regulations.
