About The Position

As a member of the hospitality team at Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge, the Food Runner plays a crucial role in ensuring prepared dishes flow smoothly and efficiently from the kitchen to the correct tables. The role includes greeting guests warmly, following table etiquette guidelines, and delivering dishes promptly and appealingly. The Food Runner attends menu classes to stay informed about current offerings and sets up and maintains the station with sauces, condiments, folded napkins, butter, and other supplies. At the end of the shift, the employee breaks down the station, stores items in designated locations, and maintains cleanliness and high standards of presentation and accuracy to support guest satisfaction. The role may also assist with hosting and dining room attendant responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily menu classes to learn about menu items, ingredients, updates, and changes.
• Set up the station with sauces and condiments, fold napkins for plate liners, prepare butter, and keep the station stocked throughout the shift.
• Break down the station at the end of the shift and store items in their designated locations.
• Run food orders to the correct tables promptly and accurately.
• Report gratuities received according to company guidelines and federal regulations.
• Assist with hosting and dining room attendant responsibilities as needed.
