Food Runner / Barback --Part Time
About The Position
As a member of the hospitality team at Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge, the Food Runner helps ensure prepared dishes flow smoothly from the kitchen and are presented appealingly and delivered promptly to the correct tables. The role includes greeting guests warmly, following table etiquette guidelines, attending menu classes to stay informed about menu offerings, and preparing and maintaining a well-stocked station. At the end of the shift, the employee breaks down the station and stores items in designated locations while maintaining cleanliness and high presentation standards. The role also requires a positive, professional attitude, excellent guest service, accurate reporting of gratuities in accordance with company guidelines and federal regulations, and flexibility to assist with hosting and dining room attendant duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and follow table etiquette guidelines.
- Attend daily menu classes to learn about menu items, ingredients, updates, and changes.
- Set up the station with sauces and condiments, folded napkins for plate liners, butter, and other necessary supplies.
- Keep the station fully stocked throughout the shift.
- Run food orders promptly and accurately to the correct tables.
- Break down the station at the end of the shift and store items in their designated locations.
- Maintain cleanliness and high standards of presentation and accuracy.
- Provide guests with positive, professional customer service.
- Report gratuities received according to company guidelines and federal regulations.
- Assist with hosting and dining room attendant responsibilities as needed.
