About The Position

The Barback Juicer supports bar operations by assisting with opening and closing duties, keeping supplies stocked, maintaining equipment and cleanliness, and helping serve customers during busy periods. The role also involves learning menu items and cocktail recipes, assisting with orders and payments, responding to customer questions or complaints, and maintaining usage records to support reordering and proper storage of deliveries.

This is a non-exempt, hourly position. Days and hours are determined by each location and may change to meet business needs. The role regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work. No travel is expected. At locations with an outdoor bar, the employee must be able to work outdoors for extended periods in temperatures above 90 degrees. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Meet the minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Courteous, friendly personality and professional appearance.
• Knowledge of menu items, including beers, wines, cocktails, and liquors.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle tense situations with coworkers and customers calmly and rationally.
• Be observant and thorough.
• Be responsible and punctual.
• Ability to meet the physical and scheduling demands of the position, including walking, standing, or lifting heavy items for extended periods and working nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to hear and talk, and good close and distance vision with the ability to adjust focus between the two.

Responsibilities

• Assist with opening and closing duties, including restocking garnishes, straws, and napkins and ensuring bartenders have clean towels and glassware.
• Keep the bar stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer.
• Check taps and appliances to confirm they work properly; make minor repairs or change kegs when needed.
• Keep the bar clean by wiping surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash.
• Learn menu items and memorize cocktail recipes.
• Take orders, prepare drinks, bus tables, open tabs, and process payments, especially during peak hours.
• Speak with customers, answer questions, and handle complaints.
• Maintain usage records and report inventory levels to support reordering and ensure delivered items are stored properly.
