About The Position

The Associate Broker supports the servicing, retention, and growth of casualty accounts while developing the technical and relationship management skills needed for a successful brokerage career. Working closely with brokers, underwriters, and clients, this role is responsible for delivering exceptional service, maintaining account accuracy, coordinating placements, and strengthening carrier relationships. The position offers significant exposure to sales, business development, and market engagement for individuals interested in pursuing a future production-oriented career path.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in commercial insurance, wholesale brokerage, underwriting, account management, customer service, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Interest in developing a career in brokerage, business development, and insurance sales.
  • Knowledge of commercial casualty coverages, including General Liability, Auto Liability, Umbrella, and Excess Liability, is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to build relationships and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the placement and servicing of new and renewal casualty business in partnership with brokers and carrier partners.
  • Develops a strong understanding of clients' operations, exposures, and insurance needs to support account retention and growth.
  • Coordinates the preparation and submission of marketing materials to carriers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Reviews quotes, binders, policies, endorsements, and related documentation to ensure coverage aligns with client expectations and placement objectives.
  • Serves as a day-to-day resource for clients, retail agents, and carrier partners, responding promptly to service requests and coverage inquiries.
  • Builds and maintains productive relationships with underwriters, developing knowledge of carrier appetites, market conditions, and casualty products.
  • Assists brokers in negotiating coverage terms, pricing, and program structures to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Identifies cross-sell and account growth opportunities and partners with brokers to expand client relationships.
  • Maintains quality control across assigned accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies, coverage concerns, and documentation issues.
  • Supports the renewal process by gathering client information, coordinating marketing efforts, and tracking deliverables throughout the placement lifecycle.
  • Participates in client meetings, carrier meetings, and industry events to build market knowledge and professional relationships.
  • Contributes to client retention, revenue growth, and business development initiatives through excellent service and proactive account management.
  • Pursues ongoing professional development through licensing, designation programs, and industry education opportunities.
