About The Position

The Associate Broker (Marine Cargo Broker Trainee) supports senior brokers with the organization and day-to-day operations of marine cargo accounts. The role involves communicating with clients and insurance markets, preparing documents, assisting with compliance, entering and analyzing data, and providing other support as needed. The associate also maintains a book of smaller accounts and directly brokers those accounts with insurance markets.

The position supports servicing larger, complex accounts and provides direct broking and placement services for smaller accounts. The role uses WTW software and systems, including ECLIPSE and RADAR, and involves maintaining account and prospect information in the company’s systems and CRM.

The position is described as hybrid, with a mix of remote, in-person, and in-office interactions depending on the needs of the team, role, and clients. The base salary range is $85,000–$125,000 USD per year, and the role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus. Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• 1–2 years of broking experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Obtain a broker’s license within the first three months of employment if not already licensed.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Exceptional time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day servicing of larger, complex accounts and directly broker and place smaller accounts.
• Issue policies and endorsements.
• Assist in preparing submissions for insurance carriers.
• Prepare comparative quote spreadsheets.
• Issue compliance documentation.
• Assist with and coordinate responses to RFPs.
• Organize internal, prospect, and client meetings.
• Support invoicing of Cargo accounts and follow up on invoicing and accounting inquiries.
• Maintain an updated account list.
• Review and manage the policy expiration list.
• Learn and use WTW software and systems, including ECLIPSE and RADAR.
• Add or renew policy records in ECLIPSE and upload required placement documentation.
• Maintain client and prospect lists in the CRM across large-market, middle-market, and industry focus areas.
• Communicate with clients and insurance markets and assist with compliance, systems data entry, data analysis, and other support tasks.
