About The Position

The Associate Broker supports assigned internal and external clients and prospects by helping Willis Re create, administer, and service efficient reinsurance programs and other services that meet client needs. The role assists with account management, underwriting preparation, fact-finding, data analysis, submission preparation, and placement with reinsurers. It also supports contract wording, placement documentation, account quality control, experience exhibits, and client service, working under the direction of client relationship managers and alongside other teams.

Requirements

BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university.
At least two years of experience in a reinsurance, insurance, or financial services professional environment.
Working knowledge of insurance and reinsurance products and the ability to apply that knowledge.
Ability and willingness to build effective, constructive relationships with external clients and contacts.
Ability to build and maintain effective teamwork, communication, and interpersonal relationships with Willis Re team members.
Ability to organize and analyze large amounts of data effectively and efficiently.
Ability to consider situations from the client's perspective to anticipate and meet client needs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to use initiative.
Strong organization and time-management abilities, including estimating task scope and difficulty, setting objectives and goals to meet deadlines, and using appropriate channels and resources.
Working knowledge of insurance and reinsurance strategies and tactics, and awareness of current and potential future policies, practices, trends, technology, and information affecting the markets and clients.
Strong ability to use Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing client accounts or portions of accounts, including underwriting preparation, fact-finding, client interaction as appropriate, and placement with reinsurers.
Prepare reinsurance submissions and underwriting narratives under the direction of a client relationship manager; review and analyze large data sets, identify trends, and organize submissions.
Ensure compliance with Willis Re quality standards before, during, and after placement; perform quality control on work for assigned accounts and maintain proper Hub filing.
Prepare accurate memos and letters to reinsurers and clients for signature, along with other documents requiring signatures.
Prepare and finalize contract wording with guidance, working with the Contract Wordings team and client relationship manager; verify that Slips/Cover Notes or Summary of Terms and Contract Wordings are fully executed.
Draft Post-Placement Memos, Brokerage Estimate Exhibits, and Market Sheets for client relationship manager sign-off after placements.
Prepare experience exhibits throughout the year with assistance from the Accounting and Claims team.
Maintain files, complete necessary forms, document conversations, perform copy work, and keep files up to date.
Perform special projects and other miscellaneous duties assigned by the client relationship manager or others.
