About The Position

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group, you will be a vital pillar of the care team, directly supporting patient well-being and ensuring seamless coordination. Your daily tasks will involve collaborating on comprehensive screenings, assisting with clinical procedures, providing essential health education, and expertly managing administrative tasks. You will leverage technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations, ensuring patients feel at ease by patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns. Success in this role requires strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate General Studies or High School GED General Studies, upon hire
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, upon hire
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (e.g., Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, Certified Medical Assistant NHA, National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, Registered Medical Assistant AMT, Registered Medical Assistant, or Cert Med Asst - MMCI), upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Two year medical assistant experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
  • Collect urine drug specimens, draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis (may be required).
  • Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or nasal administration.
  • Perform routine tests including but not limited to EKGs (may be required).
