About The Position

MercyOne Medical Group - Northeast Iowa is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its established Otolaryngology (ENT) practice in Waterloo, Iowa. The position is part of a physician-led, patient-centered practice serving approximately 280,000 people throughout Northeast Iowa. The APP will work collaboratively with an experienced Otolaryngologist, audiology services, nursing staff, and a multidisciplinary care team to provide comprehensive ENT care. The practice has established referral patterns, an existing patient base, and clinic space on the hospital campus.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Board Certified or Board Eligible.
Ability to obtain and maintain an unrestricted Iowa license.
Current DEA certification or eligibility.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate patient care.

Nice To Haves

ENT experience preferred; motivated new graduates with relevant clinical experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations.
Evaluate and manage common ENT conditions involving the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck.
Order and interpret laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic studies.
Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician.
Provide pre-operative and post-operative care.
Perform office-based procedures as credentialed.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
Document encounters within the electronic medical record.
Collaborate with audiologists, primary care providers, specialists, and ancillary staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
Participate in quality and patient experience initiatives.
