About The Position

The Lease Analyst provides advanced analysis and administration of lease agreements, easements, and contractual obligations, ensuring compliance with contract terms, mitigating risk, and supporting the ongoing management and optimization of company assets.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years minimum midstream land administration experience.
  • Preferably with producing assets, with working knowledge of new and changing technology, statutes, rules, regulations, and legislative issues affecting the oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities without close supervision.
  • Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to anticipate issues and recommend solutions to support business objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong ability to utilize a variety of analytical techniques to identify and solve problems.
  • Ability to be consistent, dependable, and accurate in carrying out responsibilities to a successful conclusion.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Required: Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) and oil and gas-related land software.

Responsibilities

  • Manages, analyzes and interprets terms and conditions of oil and gas leases, contracts, conveyances, and other documents relating to company’s assets.
  • Documents, monitors, and maintains necessary land and contract information into company’s land maintenance computer system.
  • Identifies and documents actual rental and renewal holdings of company in terms of easements, leases and percentage of ownership in agreements.
  • Reviews, monitors, and prepares for circulation Rental Recommendation Report, Obligation Report, and Expiration Report, taking appropriate action to maintain asset base.
  • Reviews, re-formats to company specifications, and maintains an inventory of all land related files, with exception of division order files, for assets acquired by the company.
  • Communicates with brokers, landowners, and state and federal agencies regarding company assets, as needed.
  • Manages, creates, modifies, and provides land reports.
  • Monitors terms and conditions of surface rentals and obligations relating to company’s assets that lease analyst has input under each agreement.
  • Manages land’s eCalendar through Quorum and SAP systems ensuring timely approval and payment of rentals and obligations.
  • Works closely and effectively with Treasury in the check write process verifying payments are correct and mailed out accordingly.
  • Review, verify and create Business Partners and Payee information for check and 1099 distributions
  • Process check requests for newly acquired rentals, assets or filing fees.
  • Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects corporate assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Land Manager
