About The Position
Welding Technicians perform welding and fabrication on augers, chain assemblies, and related components used in industrial manufacturing for Diamond-Drives. The role requires proficiency in MIG welding, blueprint reading, and working with various metals to support structural integrity and product reliability. Technicians may progress through three levels upon meeting the skills and qualifications for each role. The position involves following work instructions and engineering drawings, preparing welding equipment and materials, assembling components, and welding to applicable specifications and quality standards. Welds and assemblies are inspected for accuracy, strength, fit, and compliance. The role also requires safe operation of welding equipment and other tools, maintaining an organized work area, completing required safety training, and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of welding experience or successful completion of a welding program through a technical school, community college, union apprenticeship, or vocational training program.
- Basic knowledge of welding processes such as MIG, TIG, Flux-Cored, and/or Stick welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and weld symbols.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Manufacturing experience, as applicable to the job level.
- Ability to read, write, and speak effectively to understand required documentation, instructions, and procedures.
Nice To Haves
- At least 2 years of welding experience.
- MIG welding experience and the ability to produce high-quality welds, specifically using .045- and .035-inch wire.
- MIG and TIG welding experience.
- Welding certification.
- Certifications from a college or technical school.
Responsibilities
- Follow work instructions, blueprints, route cards, and verbal or written instructions.
- Prepare and configure welding equipment and materials according to job specifications.
- Perform welding in accordance with ISO and ASI standards and applicable quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Weld and fabricate augers, chain links, and related parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Inspect welds and assemblies for accuracy, strength, fit, and compliance with quality standards.
- Perform layout, fitting, and assembly of metal components.
- Operate welding equipment, grinders, and other tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain adequate housekeeping and a clean, organized work area.
- Follow safety procedures and complete required job-related training.
- Communicate with team members, supervisors, and support staff.
- Assemble augers, chains, and components by verifying placement, alignment, and fit.
- Collaborate with team members to verify accuracy throughout the build process.
- Perform other related duties as required or directed.
