About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of welding experience.
• Successfully complete Lamons yearly weld test certification.
• Understand and comprehend verbal or written instructions.
• Communicate clearly.
• Read measurement notations on a measuring tape, including 1/32-inch and 1/16-inch marks.
• Use and care for tools and equipment properly.
• Read calipers and micrometers.
• Lift 40 pounds independently and 60 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull.
• Continuous standing and/or walking.
• Good eye, hand, and foot coordination and good visual acuity.
• Be available to provide after-hours and weekend on-call service to customers.
• Work in cold, hot, dusty, and noisy conditions.
• Become forklift certified.

Nice To Haves

• GTAW Welding Certificate.
• Previous hose experience.
• Previous warehouse, fabrication yard, or shop experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform fabrication procedures such as bending, welding, and cutting gaskets or DJ strips according to drawings or job requirements.
• Set up, operate, and maintain machinery and hand tools used to cut, form, or build industrial gaskets.
• Pull appropriate Helix or Rib material for job orders and operate Heliarc/gas welding equipment, Circle Shear machine, Bar Bending machine, portable hand grinder, and Chop saw.
• Cross-train to set up, operate, and maintain Water Jet and horizontal and vertical winding machine equipment.
• Interpret job orders to determine the required product and complete reports or enter information in Syteline.
• Inspect finished products for conformance to specifications and quality standards, visually or with instruments.
• Prepare orders for posting and submit finished products and paperwork to Packing/Shipping.
• Receive and verify incoming freight, maintain stock areas, and prepare sales orders.
• Detect and report equipment issues, defective material, improper operations, and unusual conditions to Management.
• Conduct physical counts, maintain material inventory, and stock material on shelf or rack locations.
• Assist in training new team members.
• Use a forklift to transfer materials.
• Successfully complete the welding test for certification and Quality Assurance records.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and pallet area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
