About The Position

McCrometer, a Veralto company and global leader in flow instrumentation, is hiring a Welder III for its Production Operations Team at its Hemet, California location. The role fabricates flow meters by performing surface preparation, brazing, metal cutting, and welding with saws, presses, and gas and electric welding equipment. The position reports to the Factory Supervisor and is an onsite, indoor industrial role with good ventilation, adequate lighting, and low to moderate noise. Employer-provided personal protective equipment may include eye protection, steel-toe shoes, and gloves as needed. This is a day-shift position; overtime and weekends may be required. The Welder III receives job instructions, prints, and work orders; plans procedures, tools, and materials; prepares and joins metal parts; checks work against standards and measurements; and operates equipment, including a forklift. The role also requires maintaining safety, an orderly work area, accurate handling of tools and stock, collaboration, and participation in continuous improvement activities (VES). Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of welding experience.
Successful completion of formal in-house welding and a recognized welding certification program.
Demonstrated MIG welding competence on vertical, horizontal, and overhead planes, both stationary and turntable.
Demonstrated TIG welding competence on at least one of the vertical, horizontal, or overhead planes, stationary.
Demonstrated competence using an oxy-acetylene cutting torch.
Ability to read and understand written instructions, specifications, blueprints, or work orders.
Ability to drive a forklift or be trained to drive one.
Ability to follow and promote safe working practices.

Responsibilities

Review instructions, prints, and work orders; plan work procedures, tools, and material requirements.
Fabricate flow meters, components, and structures by cutting, bending, burning, and welding metals with appropriate techniques and equipment.
Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded; set up, assemble, and tack welded parts.
Build up worn or defective surfaces when appropriate.
Use burning equipment and saws to dismantle assemblies or parts and cut material to the required size and shape.
Check work for conformance to standards and measurements using measuring instruments.
Use equipment, work processes, and safety practices efficiently and safely; follow safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area and handle tools, equipment, and stock accurately to prevent loss.
Operate a powered industrial truck (forklift) to load and unload material.
Collaborate and maintain a positive, encouraging demeanor with personnel.
Support continuous improvement activities (VES).
Maintain productive working relationships and communicate with internal and external customers as needed.
Produce quality work, seek and provide productive feedback, maintain efficiency, and manage time and projects effectively.
