About The Position

The Maintenance Welder performs repairs and maintenance on vehicle floors, bodies, packing blades, rails, and fabricated components. The position includes welding steel and aluminum, bending and cutting steel, and fabricating steel components on trucks. The welder follows safety policies and procedures, completes required paperwork, and performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of welding experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication with supervisors and co-workers.
• Customer service skills and a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner.
• Dependability, including punctuality and adherence to the established work schedule.
• Ethical conduct and adherence to company policies and rules.
• Safety orientation, including recognizing hazards and following safety procedures.
• Troubleshooting skills to diagnose equipment problems, identify root causes, and determine repair options.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weld repairs to vehicle floors, bodies, packing blades, rails, and fabricated components.
• Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and arc welding equipment.
• Bend steel components using a brake and shear.
• Cut steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
• Fabricate steel components on trucks.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
