About The Position

DHT Group is seeking an experienced Welder / Fabricator to work second shift at its Reese, Michigan location. The role involves taking shop projects from measurement and layout through fit-up, welding, finishing, and final inspection. Work includes a variety of shop projects, repairs, components, and fabrication, modification, and repair projects across the operation. DHT Group describes its Reese operation as supporting a wide range of equipment, projects, and divisions, so work may vary from day to day.

Requirements

Previous welding and/or metal fabrication experience.
Strong fabrication, layout, and fit-up skills.
Ability to accurately use tape measures, squares, and other measuring tools.
Ability to read and interpret prints or fabrication drawings.
Mechanical aptitude and solid problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to safe work practices.

Nice To Haves

Experience with multiple welding processes and fabrication equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform welding and metal fabrication for shop projects, repairs, and components.
Measure, lay out, cut, fit, tack, weld, and finish fabricated parts.
Read and work from prints, drawings, measurements, and specifications.
Use grinders, saws, cutting equipment, and other common fabrication tools.
Inspect completed work for proper fit, dimensions, and weld quality.
Assist with fabrication, modification, and repair projects throughout the operation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Work with shop personnel to complete projects safely and efficiently.
