Welder (HVAC Piping)

Modigent•Waco, TX
•$20 - $25•Onsite

About The Position

The Welder (HVAC Piping) fabricates, assembles, installs, repairs, and modifies piping systems for commercial HVAC, refrigeration, hydronic, and mechanical applications. The role primarily uses TIG (GTAW) and Stick (SMAW) welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and other alloys to produce precise welds that meet applicable codes and quality standards. Work is primarily field-based in commercial and industrial construction settings and includes travel to project sites, including out-of-town jobs. Overtime, weekends, shift work, and occasional on-call availability may be required as business needs dictate. This is a skilled craftsperson role with no supervisory responsibilities. The welder may provide informal guidance to apprentices or junior welders and pipefitters. The position involves working indoors and outdoors, including mechanical rooms and rooftops, and exposure to noise, dust, heights, welding fumes, arc flash, and confined-space hazards. Strict adherence to OSHA, company, and site safety procedures and required PPE is essential. Modigent describes a people-first culture with hands-on training, mentorship, apprenticeships, certifications, and career advancement opportunities across its operating companies. Compensation is based on experience and level, with performance incentives and tool allowances where applicable.
