About The Position

Gerhart is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join its team in Tatamy, Pennsylvania. The role involves fabricating products from professional blueprints or sketches, working with metal using welding, grinding, and sanding techniques to achieve a high degree of accuracy and finish, and taking products from raw material through to completion. The position offers the opportunity to work on industrial weighing and automation systems and to develop skills through career growth opportunities and ongoing training.

Requirements

Familiarity with common metal shop tools and equipment, including TIG and MIG welders, brazing equipment, cutting torches, grinders, brakes, drills, taps, saws, fixtures, and measuring tools.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to consistently lift, move, and carry products weighing 50 pounds or more.
Ability to bend, crawl, and lift for extended periods safely and in accordance with company guidelines and OSHA standards.
Self-motivation and critical-thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous work experience with pipe fitting, tube bending, or compression fitting.
Forklift certification.
