About The Position

Requirements

• Serve as the primary technical lead responsible for the development, coordination, and execution of all engineered solutions.
• Provide end‑to‑end engineering ownership—from initial onsite validation through final station‑level approval.
• Ensure every solution meets Pierce Manufacturing’s safety, operational, and performance requirements.
• Integrate solutions cleanly into the High Flow Line Factory of the Future.
• Conduct facility verification, including physical measurements, elevations, clearances, existing infrastructure, and installed utilities.
• Validate station locations, operator interfaces, access paths, and safety zones.
• Engage with Pierce Manufacturing stakeholders (Operations, Engineering, Safety, Maintenance).
• Align on functional expectations, constraints, and success criteria.
• Document field‑verified conditions.
• Finalize functional and technical requirements.
• Translate RFQ intent into actionable engineering criteria.
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams and external equipment vendors.
• Serve as the central point of technical communication.
• Develop station‑level designs.
• Create station‑level layouts.
• 3D model equipment and tooling.
• Perform clash and interference analysis.
• Verify designs support takt expectations, ergonomic intent, and safe installation and operation.
• Refine designs iteratively.
• Review and validate Bills of Material.
• Confirm equipment configuration, safety features, and optional components.
• Coordinate corrections and updates with vendors.
• Deliver approval documentation.
• Prepare integrated drawings.
• Create layouts and documentation for review, approval, and downstream execution.
• Resolve and incorporate Pierce comments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project kickoff with an onsite visit to Pierce Manufacturing.
• Conduct detailed facility verification, including physical measurements, elevations, clearances, existing infrastructure, and installed utilities.
• Validate station locations, operator interfaces, access paths, and safety zones within the HFL footprint.
• Engage directly with Pierce Manufacturing stakeholders (Operations, Engineering, Safety, Maintenance) to align on functional expectations, constraints, and success criteria for each engineered solution.
• Document field‑verified conditions to eliminate unknowns prior to detailed design.
• Finalize functional and technical requirements in collaboration with Pierce manufacturing staff.
• Translate RFQ intent into actionable engineering criteria, including load cases, reach envelopes, elevation ranges, and safety interfaces.
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams and external equipment vendors to ensure consistent interpretation of requirements.
• Serve as the central point of technical communication across multiple vendors contributing to a single station solution.
• Develop station‑level designs to validate feasibility and readiness.
• Create detailed station‑level layouts for each engineered solution.
• 3D model equipment and tooling to validate reach, coverage, elevation requirements, and operator access.
• Perform clash and interference analysis against product, facility, adjacent stations, and other tooling.
• Verify that designs support takt expectations, ergonomic intent, and safe installation and operation.
• Refine designs iteratively based on Pierce feedback and cross‑vendor coordination.
• Review and validate Bills of Material for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with approved designs.
• Confirm equipment configuration, safety features, and optional components align with scope assumptions.
• Coordinate corrections and updates with vendors to prevent downstream cost or schedule impacts.
• Deliver comprehensive approval documentation, including station‑level approval prints reflecting the finalized design for each engineered solution.
• Prepare integrated drawings that may include equipment and interfaces from multiple vendors within a single station.
• Create layouts and documentation suitable for Pierce Manufacturing review, approval, and downstream execution.
• Formally resolve and incorporate Pierce comments prior to release for fabrication and build.
