About The Position
LILT is seeking senior Farsi linguists based in the United States to join its Medical Talent Community as independent contractors. The role focuses on high-stakes medical and regulatory content, particularly patient records and clinical protocols, in the Life Sciences sector. Contractors adapt and validate target-language content to meet compliance standards and work within strict GxP environments while adhering to ISO 17100 quality standards. Work availability fluctuates with project demand, so this opportunity is presented as supplemental income rather than a full-time job or primary income source. Contractors choose when and how much to work, but accepted tasks require quality work and on-time delivery. Most tasks require a minimum of two hours per day or ten hours per week. Contractors are responsible for their own tax obligations and do not receive health insurance, paid time off, or retirement contributions. Joining the Life Sciences Community involves applying with an English-language résumé or CV, verifying relevant regulated-medical-market experience with a project list or references, confirming familiarity with applicable local regulations, and completing a specialized translation or review assessment.
Requirements
- Native-level proficiency in Farsi.
- Currently based in the United States of America.
- A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies; or a graduate qualification in another field plus two years of full-time professional translation experience; or five years of full-time professional translation experience.
- Professional experience in translation and localization within the Medical/Life Sciences domains.
- Demonstrable experience translating for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or biotechnology.
- Ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely.
- Familiarity with strict GxP environments and ISO 17100 quality standards.
- Reliable availability and commitment to timely, quality delivery; most tasks require a minimum of two hours per day or ten hours per week.
Responsibilities
