About The Position

The Substitute Interpreter/Translator translates technical, educational, legal, and general materials between English and a designated language and provides interpretation services for parents, students, and staff. Candidates must meet the minimum requirements, successfully interview, and pass reference checks. Three references are required, including the candidate’s current or most recent supervisor. Application documents include a letter of introduction, three current letters of recommendation, and a resume.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school and two years of college are desired.
• Two additional years of experience may substitute for the higher education requirement; candidates using this substitution must have graduated from high school or provide evidence of equivalent educational proficiency.
• One year of experience composing, editing, proofreading, or translating materials in English and the designated language for widespread dissemination or publication is desired.
• Successfully complete an interview and reference checks.
• Provide three references, including the current or most recent supervisor.
• Submit a letter of introduction, three current letters of recommendation, and a resume.
