About The Position

TransPerfect is seeking freelance linguists to translate from English into Traditional Chinese (Taiwan), specializing in Clinical Trial Agreements within the Clinical Legal sectors. Translators prepare and finalize client-facing work and are responsible for translating and proofreading documents under the guidance of a manager and in collaboration with Project Managers. The role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the world. Applicants must complete translation and proofreading tests, sign a confidentiality agreement, and undergo a background check. Applicants should submit an up-to-date CV detailing relevant translation and proofreading experience and proposed translation and proofreading rates in USD.

Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Traditional Chinese (Taiwan).
Specialization in Clinical Trial Agreements or the stated subject field.
Acute attention to detail, spelling, and grammar.
Ability to maintain professionalism, especially under tight deadlines.
Meet at least one of the following: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies (or an equivalent degree with significant translation training) from a recognized higher education institution; two years of translation experience and a college degree; five years of translation experience and no college degree; or a certificate of competence in translation awarded by an appropriate government body.
Sign a confidentiality agreement, complete translation and proofreading tests, and undergo a background check.

Responsibilities

Translate English-language Clinical Trial Agreements into Traditional Chinese (Taiwan).
