About The Position

TransPerfect is expanding its database of freelance linguists to translate Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) into English in the investment banking field, with a focus on market commentary. Under the guidance of a manager and in collaboration with Project Managers, the linguist will translate and proofread documents for a variety of clients and help finalize deliverables before they are sent to clients. The role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the world.

Applicants must sign a confidentiality agreement, complete translation and proofreading tests, and undergo a background check. Applicants should submit a current CV including relevant translation and proofreading experience, their proposed translation rate per word, and proofreading hourly rate in USD. Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Traditional Chinese (Taiwan).
• Specialization in investment banking or the stated subject area.
• Acute attention to detail, spelling, and grammar.
• Ability to remain professional in all situations, especially under tight deadlines.
• Meet at least one of the following qualification routes: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies, or an equivalent degree with significant translation training, from a recognized higher education institution; two years of translation experience and a college degree; five years of translation experience and no college degree; or a certificate of competence in translation awarded by an appropriate government body.
• Sign a confidentiality agreement, complete translation and proofreading tests, and undergo a background check.
• Submit a current CV including relevant translation and proofreading experience and proposed translation and proofreading rates in USD.
