About The Position

TransPerfect is expanding its database of freelance linguists to translate from English into Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) for investment banking market commentary. Linguists translate and proofread documents for a variety of clients in the investment banking sector, preparing and finalizing work before it is delivered to clients. The role is performed under the guidance of a manager and in collaboration with Project Managers. Remote work is possible from anywhere in the world.

Applicants must complete free translation and proofreading tests, sign a confidentiality agreement, and undergo a background check. Applicants should submit a current CV detailing relevant translation and proofreading experience and proposed translation-per-word and proofreading-hourly rates in USD. Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Traditional Chinese (Taiwan).
• Specialization in investment banking market commentary.
• Acute attention to detail, spelling, and grammar.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, especially under tight deadlines.
• Meet at least one of the following: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies (or an equivalent degree with significant translation training) from a recognized higher-education institution; two years of translation experience and a college degree; five years of translation experience without a college degree; or a translation competence certificate awarded by an appropriate government body.
• Complete translation and proofreading tests, sign a confidentiality agreement, and undergo a background check.
